Instructions for the care of Folkmanis hand puppets

Plush hand puppets from Folkmanis

DO NOT USE WASHING MACHINE OR DRYER!

Such treatment would damage the Folkmanis hand puppets. Plush hand puppets should only be cleaned superficially. Do not immerse them completely in water. Use tempered water and a Woolite® sponge or other mild detergent suitable for damp foaming on furs. Use a sponge to clean the surface. Be careful not to squeeze the Folkmanis hand puppet to avoid clumping the fabric. Allow the hand puppet to dry by gently squeezing it between towels or draining it on the line. When dry, brush out the fur with a wire dog brush to loosen the fur. Be careful when brushing the head so as not to scratch the eyes or damage the filaments on the ears, nose or mouth area. We do not recommend blow drying Folkmanis hand puppets: however, if you do, please ensure a low heat and sufficient distance to avoid damaging the fur by overheating.

Velour hand puppets from Folkmanis

NO WASHING MACHINE OR DRYER USE!

Please clean the larger Folkmanis velour hand puppets with a sponge, mild detergent and lukewarm water without overly soaking them. The smaller, glove-like velour hand puppets can be dipped in lukewarm water for cleaning. Avoid wringing or twisting the Folkmanis hand puppet. Hand puppets should be dried by gently squeezing between towels or dried on a line (avoid direct sunlight). Velour dolls should not be brushed; instead, they can be gently rubbed with a soft cloth. We do not recommend blow drying Folkmanis hand puppets: however, if you do, please ensure a low heat and sufficient distance to avoid damaging the fur by overheating.
